![]() | Manfrotto 190 X PROB Pros: Sturdy and well-made. Not excessively heavy. Cons: Short. I would have preferred it to have an extra section. Opinion: Purchased in 2023, after 10 years from the cessation of production, thanks to an excellent offer in used cars. Taken to replace a Manfrotto compact advance for night outings while keeping me "light". It immediately appears robust and well made, even at maximum opening it is stable. Too bad for the need to totally extend the legs in order to have a decent height, an extra section would not have hurt. sent on September 21, 2023 |
![]() | Nikon D7100 Pros: File quality, ergonomics, dynamic range, dual slots Cons: Buffer, BKT limited to 5 shots, high ISO tightness Opinion: I have been using the D7100 for about 8 years. I took it to replace the D5200 (which in turn replaced the D3200). It's a wonderful world. I mainly use it for landscape and night photos. The files it churns out are fantastic and the shadows very well recoverable. The colors are also excellent. It is very ergonomic and in the hand gives an excellent feeling of solidity and stability. The dual memory slot is very useful, especially if you are traveling. Clearly, today in 2023, the years are noticeable: above 800 ISO the noise is already evident (not very high for heaven's sake!), the buffer is sparse and the BKT is limited to 5 shots. For the BKT 5 shots unlike 2EV is enough for many occasions, but it would have been better to have 7 shots available. All in all for the cost and quality it is a great machine. I have thought several times to move on, but I should throw myself on the FF and I do not consider it the case. In the end I believe that even today it has its reason and that it holds up well the comparison with ML. sent on September 03, 2023 |
