![]() | Canon EF 17-40mm f/4.0 L USM Pros: Lightness, constant aperture of the diaphragm, sealing, cost is not excessive Cons: The corners (on FF) the quality is not excellent Opinion: A lens without a doubt very good it's worth the money it costs. Well built, sturdy and weather sealed. As has already been said very resistant to flare and allows magnificent shots against the light not possible with other objectives. The only flaw I found was leaking a little at the corners in terms of sharpness on FF. Show a bit of chromatic aberration and vignetting, but things are solved with a simple click of ACR or DPP. Ultimately excellent lens, which would replace not with the 16-35 f / 2.8 that although it may be better in some uses, it is also more cumbersome, heavier and costs twice. sent on September 25, 2011 |
![]() | Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM Pros: Versatility; relative lightness and compactness; minimum distance of focus Cons: A little dated Opinion: I also belong to those who love the 100-400 and its zoom system which is particularly fast, accurate and also allows you to challenge the lens always firmly in the socket without turning to zoom. The sharpness is good at all apertures and all focal lengths, even landlines can clearly give a little more, but it would take at least 4 goals to do everything that you can do with only 100-400. The bokeh is not comparable to that of a 2.8 to 400mm but all in coverage has given me much satisfaction from this point of view. Probably would be doing an update of the optical system and the stabilizer of the first generation, but it remains still a very good lens. Recommended! sent on September 25, 2011 |
![]() | Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 L Macro IS USM Pros: Lightweight compact hybrid stabilizer not overly expensive Cons: no Opinion: For about a year I have replaced the canon 100 f / 2,8 Macro with this lens. What most attracted me was the stabilizer as in the macro, when you can not use a tripod, the time is always a problem. Galvanized by the great reviews that I found around I decided to change and are fully satisfied. The lens is less bulky and lighter version of the L and not at the same time has a more robust construction and tropicalized. The picture quality is really at the top showing incredible definition. AF very fast and precise. In short, a recommended buy! sent on September 25, 2011 |
