![]() | Manfrotto 405 Pros: Practical, stable, extremely robust, precise even in the smallest movements and excellent quality of the materials used. The plate and its quick release system are also excellent, once tightened it becomes practically a single body with the head and obviously is equipped with safety against accidental release. Cons: Weight and slight footprint, although I believe they are factors, tend to no longer be considered once you realize the stability it offers. Opinion: I was lucky enough to find it used and in perfect condition and it is worth every penny spent. Excellent for handling heavy loads that do not affect the fluidity and precision of movements. Needless to say, for this head, given its stability as well as weight, it is more than due to the choice of an adequate tripod, of equal workmanship and robustness. sent on March 13, 2021 |
![]() | Manfrotto 393 U Pros: Very robust, well-crafted, ideal for large optics and a considerable weight. Cons: Very bulky, rather basic structure turns out to look more like a large and sturdy bracket than a real head. Inefficient tightening/locking system. Opinion: The 393 of the house Manfrotto looks like a sturdy and rather bulky bracket, with a good and satisfying mobility on the 2 axes. Even when installing heavy optics, you can maintain good maneuverability without losing fluidity in changes of direction. Great for birdwatchers and needs rapid mobility. Unfortunately, the tightening system of the azimutal axis does not allow a satisfactory locking of the optical chamber group, which slowly tends to return to the equilibrium position. sent on June 24, 2020 |
