![]() | Sigma 300-600mm f/4 DG OS Sport Pros: Outstanding optical quality and unique versatility Cons: Maybe weight and size Opinion: I state that at the moment I have only used it for video in Africa, but mounted on a High-End camera, capable of revealing any limits or defects. From my point of view it is an extraordinary lens, because it combines an optical quality equal to a prime lens (I have used both the Nikon 400 f2.8 and the Sony 400 f2.8 over the years) with a unique versatility, especially in situations such as expeditions or safaris. Still speaking of video, the level of image quality compared to the SIGMA 60-600 (which is perhaps the most versatile E-mount lens for wildlife video shooting and which, again in my opinion and from experience in the field, has a better image quality than the Sony 200-600 that I have used and owned) is almost incredible. The only drawback that can be associated with this lens is the combination of weight + size, both not trivial, even if compared with hyper bright telephoto with fixed focal length (even if for the video the lens and telephoto are actually on a tripod so it is a relative problem). sent on November 21, 2025 |
