Tamron 20mm f/2.8 Di III OSD M1:2 Pros: Build quality, sharpness, weight and portability Cons: Exaggerated distortion Opinion: I used this beautiful 20mm of Tamron in interior photography but the distortion of this lens is really impossible. As everyone has pointed out, this defect is compensated directly in the machine or through a software profile but to have all the images crop, in environments where you fight with mm to compose the frame, is not possible. If you make landscapes and streets you will not even notice the defect but for narrow spaces you will see its limits. sent on June 21, 2021 |
Samyang 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC Aspherical Pros: Price of the used, sharpness, good construction. Cons: Distortion difficult to fix on FF and very annoying in the interior. On APS, of course, distortion is more manageable. Opinion: Good lens for those who need a cheap wide-angle and excellent workmanship and yield. Personally I took it to use it via adapter on APS where, although there is a slow profile in Camera Raw you still need to fix by hand some residual distortion. Just taking photos of architecture and interiors is very frustrating to waste time in this way for every single shot. Landscapers will have no problem with this. The focus on APS even if only manual is very simple... from 5.6/8 is pretty much all in focus. The sharpness already from f5.6 is great up to the edges (always on APS). My Fuji XF EF grafting adapter also has the SHIFT function on the two axes but stitching, while achievable, is practically unusable due to the distortions above. sent on February 19, 2020 |
