Fujifilm XF 16-80mm f/4 R OIS WR Pros: versatility, autofocus, build quality Cons: not particularly handy for an ML apsc if you do not need a tropicalized optics. Opinion: I do not like to write reviews but here I would like to give my contribution to positively re-credit this lens so awaited and then discussed due to some disappointment. In my opinion its reason for existing lies in versatility because it covers the statistically most used focal lengths .... and I think this is really a great value. In addition (it has already been said) it is tropicalized, has an excellent stabilizer, a valid AF. But then the flaws? well, maybe the price. However, being optical in kit, there are excellent recent used. I bought it for 470 euros from a practically new kit. The size? Yes, the 18-55 is more maneuverable but has less hiking and is not tropicalized. Sharpness? In my opinion it is good, I perceive it better than 18-55. The blurred also. I leave aside the comparison with the 16-55 first of all because I have never tried it and then because it is an optics with very specific characteristics for professional use, for better or for worse completely different from the 16-80. So it is a great lens to exploit on vacation, in reportage, in free time. A valid alternative to 18-55. Between 18-55 in the second-hand market there are about 180 euros of difference but if you want a little more IQ, excursion and, why not, tropicalization, the money spent in more is really worth them all. sent on December 13, 2021 |
