![]() | Sony FE 24-50mm f/2.8 G Pros: Perfect cut and size for my idea of street, it makes me want to take the car with me more often Cons: value for money, distortion Opinion: I've only tried once to use zoom lenses for the street, with a Fuji, and I was convinced that the street is done with a couple of primes and so on. No zoom, I move. My opinion. Then after having the stupid idea of doing 3 weeks in Istanbul alone with three G Master 1.2 and 1.4 primes, and having broken my shoulders I started to think that I should buy back the old FE 1.8 or even think about a light zoom. All the talk about quality and performance is right, but if you don't shoot because you don't want to carry around 5 kg of equipment then... I bought the 24-50, it seems to me the worst and best spent amount in my life at the same time. Qualitatively, it doesn't seem to me to be worth what it costs, and maybe I'm wrong. But it's small and weighs 440 grams. And after only two days of testing, it has already happened to me several times to widen or tighten on the fly and allow myself to steal the right photo. Maybe it's the optics I can take with me on the road. The distortions at 24 are many. It's not 1.8, it's not 1.4, but it covers the focal lengths I want in a very small space. sent on June 19, 2024 |
