![]() | Venus Laowa Argus 28mm f/1.2 FF Pros: Price, Z mount, important aperture, sharpness after a few stops closing, weight, aesthetic beauty Cons: Absence of electronic elements, TA softness, defects on the edges in astrophotography (I'm picky!) Opinion: The lens looks very good aesthetically. Really nice to feel in the hands, this denotes the excellent materials used. Well built and with some elements that distinguish it from other lenses on the market, such as the blue line on the body and the rectangular hood, with its relative lens cover to be inserted simply by sliding it vertically on the hood. Small and light due to the absence of internal electronics, it weighs only 562g and is already produced with Nikon Z mount, making us avoid carrying the weight and bulk of the FTZ adapter with us. The movements of the rings are fluid and soft. It is also equipped with a button to activate the stops of the diaphragm ring, a function that I found very important and useful. One of the few wide angles to have a maximum aperture of f / 1.2 (yes .. you have not misread), the lens amazes for its performance, which according to my style, I found myself testing in larger apertures. Although at TA it is perhaps slightly soft, it is enough to close a few stops to already have excellent sharpness. The softness to TA and the excellent blur, could be of great help in some portrait set, given the important angle of view of 75 °. In conclusion, if you do not need autofocus, I recommend buying this beautiful lens with an excellent quality / price ratio, which has little to envy to the most famous brothers, but which will save weight in your backpack and money in your wallet. sent on September 02, 2023 |
