![]() | Nikon AF-S 50mm f/1.4 G Pros: Size & weight, sharpness, auto MAF accuracy, Cons: Price Opinion: I have read conflicting opinions on this lens and still often negative, especially in relation to Brother F/1.8. I bought it about a year ago, paying him a lot less than the list price for a coincidence of events. I find myself well and I find it a great goal; My judgement is not based on the evaluation of the MTF curves or the production process, topics that little mastic and that I am interested in in relation to my conception of photography, is based only on personal experience. I use it constantly both on APC-S, and on FF, almost always for portraits set and in different light conditions, usually outdoors from F/1.4 to F/4.0 or in studio with Flash light from F/8.0 to F/9.0. In All these occasions the automatic MAF has always been sufficiently rapid and precise (rarely fails a shot). Maybe a f/1.4 is slightly soft but the final yield however is valid, while from F/1.6 on is a razor and with a fuzzy of all respect. It's not stabilized, but it's well... it's a short lens, it's not essential in my opinion. Then it is light and small and this in the outdoor sessions is a plus. The price however is high, so I would recommend it, but only to those looking for a 50ino light/practical and is really sure to have to use it in conditions that necessarily require (for various reasons) to gain a stop on opening the diaphragm compared to Brother F/ 1.8. sent on February 03, 2019 |
![]() | Nikon AF-S DX 35mm f/1.8 G Pros: Good sharpness, bright, very light, popular price Cons: AF not flawless in non-optimal light conditions Opinion: After trying it thanks to a friend I bought it and I have not detached from the camera body for about 3 months because I found it extremely versatile, using it especially in the portraits set but also in events that do not require large angle openings. It is very bright, and gives good sharpness even to those who (like me) do not feel it to spend large numbers, so the value for money is high (even at full aperture!). In portraits it gives the maximum if you want to contextualize the subject, whereas if you have to tighten on a foreground the need for a longer length you hear, but this is more a limitation of the focal than the lens in question. The AF sometimes made me misfires, especially in light conditions not optimal, but already at the second attempt has been made to forgive. It's very light, and that's the long count. To buy. sent on July 15, 2018 |
