![]() | Pentax D FA 150-450mm f/4.5-5.6 ED DC AW Pros: build quality, uniform yield of 150 to 450 mm Cons: chromatic aberrations, slow AF, TA not made in exceptional, price, resale value Opinion: I bought this lens trying for the second time to return "home" Pentax but there's just been feeling, I sold after just a couple of months. The build quality, which has always distinguished the brand Pentax, is excellent: excellent arrangement of the rings as well as the shape and generous size of the bracket to the tripod, very convenient for transportation. It was a disappointing yield: a lens that level (and its price) I never expected to have to close at least two thirds of stop to get a good quality. The presence of abundant chromatic aberrations (purple ones, for instance) has left me stunned, remembering the old lenses. The most disappointing thing ever, especially in light of the much-vaunted improvements achieved with the K-3, was the autofocus: assolutissimamente not in line with the competition. The combination of Pentax K-3 / D FA 150-450 was flanked by me and compared simultaneously with Canon7DMarkII / 100-400 IS II: apart from the 50 mm less, we are on two different planets, coupled between the two seem to be 10 years of difference! sent on August 18, 2015 |
