Canon Powershot G11

Pros: Excelent objective quality, taking fine pictures from landscape panoramas to 1 cm macros. Lot of bild in scene modes but also lot of manual settings, bracketing, jpeg/raw, external flash possible, optical viewer (I use it when on sun/snow, digital display shows nothing), swivel display allows taking picturs "behind the corner", im looking to north and notelessly take pics from east.

Cons: Of course compacts are slower in focusing, so street, sport themes can be taken not so easy as with dslrs. Sometimes I meet probles with focusing. All the camera surface is full of control switches, buttons etc. so sometimes you happen to select an unrequired feature :-). Zoom max 5x, 10x would be better.

Opinion: It is my only camera since 2010, I use it when skiing, trekking, wandering, you can put and carry it in medium size pocket. I will soon learn to use all the capabilities included in its small body :-)). With external flash I use it normally also for making family photos at home. After 3 years I try to find some its follower, but its hard to find something significantly better ....
