![]() | Canon EF 85mm f/1.4 L IS USM Pros: Fast and safe autofocus, formidable stabilizer, weight and manageability, vibrant colors and modern Cons: Nobody Opinion: The "natural" comparison is with the 85 mm 1.2 II. The new 85 mm 1.4, in my opinion, is a winning one. First, the fast autofocus, combined with the amazing stabilizer, allows you to shoot images perfectly in focus, in every condition. Contrary to the old 1.2, using which you had to actually take for granted a good percentage of out of focus. With the new stabilized 1.4 you can also photograph in low light conditions (even at night, the city Lights!!!), better than with a 35 1.4 not stabilized. With regard to handling, the 85 1.4 is lighter and, in my opinion, much more balanced and manageable than 85 1.2, stocky and heavy. The quality of the images is excellent, the colors seem more vivid and "modern" of 85 1.2, which on the other hand is unbeatable with regard to its "mystical" bokeh. sent on November 08, 2018 |
