Canon EOS 50E / Elan II Pros: Eye Control, Robust with metal top, command dial on the back, shutter up to 1/4000 Cons: battery difficult to find, but with the BP-50 battery grip you can remedy it, only 3 autofocus points but you can live with it quietly. Opinion: I own several analog cameras, I became fond of the Canon A-1 for a period of time, which unfortunately died, and then the T70 of which I appreciated the automatism of the winding and film advance management but since I bought the EOS 650, I have never looked back having a fleet of EF lenses and the shutter speed at 1/2000s. Out of curiosity, after so many rolls of film taken and after the anguish of being orphaned by the 650 (sooner or later it will happen), I decided to buy another EOS 35mm and I came across this Eos 50e, found at a very honest price complete with original box and manuals in German (70 euros including shipping), and I must say that the Autofocus system with eye control is amazing and works very well; I find it very useful in situations where you would have had to aim, lock, and recompose. For the rest it is very responsive with the "modern" EF lens park, I found a slight improvement on autofocus in general and I am very satisfied with the camera. sent on 06 Marzo 2026 |
