![]() | Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 DC OS HSM Macro C Pros: Handy, versatile, crisp, value for money, brilliant colors Cons: So far I have not found it, perhaps the fact that the zoom ring rotates in the opposite direction, but certainly not a problem. Opinion: I have bought this goal to replace the good old 18-55 dearest of my previous D3200. Now I mount it on the D500 and it goes that is a miracle. As far as I'm concerned, it's a good thing to do, balanced and covers the major focal points used when leaving without wanting to carry too much weight behind. The presence of the stabilizer is very comfortable, especially in low light, I found it very good. The lens is silent, AF fast enough, no Back & Front Focus. The hood is well-balanced to the lens. I bought it without the USB dock as it does not need it at the moment. Only "neo", if so we want to call it? The fact that if the function "shows the photo taken after the shot" is activated, unlike the other lenses, the photo remains for about 60 seconds on the screen instead of the 4 sec canons ... but just press the button Click to solve the "problem". I have read the same thing for other machines such as seriesD7xxx and some D5xxx. SIGMA will probably fix this "timer" with the next firmware (so the DOC will need to be upgraded) ... otherwise it will certainly not be a problem this "neo" .rn The 17mm distortion is clearly there but it resolves Easily in post-production, and with regard to clarity, closed to f4 is really great ... it's also convenient to take "macro" pictures even if the ratio will never be 1: 1 as for true macros targets clearly. Rn For the rest, I recommend this as an excellent upgrading of kit 18-55, furthermore 2.8-4 diaphragm is very comfortable with low light. Rn sent on July 17, 2017 |
