![]() | Sony SLT-A99 Pros: Definitely good files, quite low noise even at the high ISO, very manageable. Almost intuitive for those who have already used other Sonys. Very useful articulated shermo, light and robust. It doesn't make you regret cameras with multiple megapixels. Found in the used at very affordable prices. Cons: I have not found any flaws but, with all the very useful functions it offers (good thing), it requires a long and careful reading of the manual. The hubs of the screen, all made of plastic, portede for their likely non-infinite life. Opinion: I'm the owner of Sony A 900 and 850 but the recurrences of a brain accident made me very uncomfortable to get close to the scope of these to embrace the framed field while I found myself well, in doing so, with the back screen of my wife's Sony A 57 which is not a FF camera. So, given the need for an FF with the ability to frame with a comfortable screen, I met almost randomly the A 99 who had all the right cards to meet me. Researching I also found the newest A 99 II and I was ready to buy it when I was presented with a great opportunity for a well-maintained and cheap "normal" A 99. The savings were considerable and what I would not have spent would remain available for some optics... I am very happy, the sacrosanct screen has made me return to the world of photography in its own right making me overcome my difficulties!! Since I was already satisfied with the 24 megapixels of my other cameras, and since I don't print in poster format, I don't think I'm going to regret the 40 megapixels of the 99 II. Being used to the two "old ladies" I was amazed by the reduced noise of the 99 even at the high ISO. That is, the 3200 ISO of the 99 introduces much less noise than the 800 ISO of the A 900 - 850. It's very good to take pictures or movies with my microscope and I've already successfully tested it on lunar and planetary photos with my telescope. From the beginning, the fingers found the right keys almost automatically as for an already Sonysta this camera is practically intuitive. The weight is not very heavy and grips feelings of safety and great robustness. I gave her the 10 grade without a doubt and I would recommend it from the heart to all! Last thing: it is not possible to use with this USB cables of the A 900 - 850 but it is compatible with that of the A 57 which has a minor plug. sent on April 23, 2020 |
![]() | Sony 20mm f/2.8 Pros: Sharpness (see feedback field), maximum brightness 2.8, very fast and precise focus. Quite sturdy but light. Very suitable for creative shots. His alter ego, branded Minolta, is conveniently priced in the second-hand market. Cons: The sharpness at the edges at full aperture could be better. Vignetting At Large openings Opinion: My review is based on my experience with Sony at 850 using my old Minolta 20 mm 2.8 from which Sony has drawn the optical and mechanical design of its goal: in short, the Sony and the Minolta are exactly alike (the only difference is in the cost)! The aperture optics provide the image center sharp enough but the extreme edges are not exactly so, also, at large openings, the vignetting becomes visible. The sharpness in the center and the edges and the vignetting improve a lot when the aperture is decreased. In my experience this lens works at the top between f/5.6 and F/8 (I recommend a good f/7.1) thus obtaining a noticeable sharpness. At F/11 the image returned is equally good while, closing to f/16, cause diffraction, the decrease in resolve is noted a little. The colors are very good, as is the auto focus, really fast and very accurate. The optics, in the hands, transmits a sense of great robustness and good design. It is a lens that, when used on full frame, allows very varied creative photos playing with the perspective. Is it worth the price requested by Sony? In my opinion yes even if I invite you to look for the old Minolta in good condition. In short: For the photographs that will allow you to get is a very helpful goal! It's always a wonderful experience to see and take back the world with a super wide angle.. sent on August 01, 2018 |
![]() | Sony 50mm f/2.8 Macro Pros: Extreme sharpness, lack of distortion, very fast and precise autofocus. Light, sturdy. Optics that can offer its services in every kind of photography (not just macro). Good quality of the blurred. Presence of the focus distance limiter and the convenient button for the fire block. Great value for money. Cons: I had to think a lot to find a defect, because only of defect is: the front of the lens stretches or shortens when it is focheggia, which does not bother me but that could give it to others. Only for this I gave him a vote 9 but, taking into account the performance and potential, would deserve a nice 10 Opinion: This optics came to me by buying it in block together with the body of a 850. It was a blessing to me! I can immediately say that it honors the almost 25 megapixels of the FF sensor. I state that I own the Zeiss Vario Sonnar 24-70 f/2.8 and after several tests I can say that in sharpness equals the heavy expensive German optics, of course at the same focal. In the center, already at full aperture, the image is really good. Closing at F/4-f/5.6 The sharpness becomes astounding with sensible edge enhancement. Closing the Diframma to F/11-F/16, which happens especially in macro, when it needs great depth of field, the image does not decay due to diffraction. Being a fixed lens and dedicated to macro, it has no distortion. The chromatism is very well corrected and what little is almost not seen can be eliminated in post production or closing a little opening. This optics should not be considered only dedicated to macro but is a good normal lens for full format and, in the case of sensor APS-C, a very helpful medium tele, for those who work in FF can very well represent the optics for photographic outputs Wanting to stay light demanding very high performance. The autofocus with the a 850 is very very fast and accurate to the point that I have not heard any need to manually focus. The construction seems robust and durable in time. Attention in portraits: it can highlight the slightest defect of the skin by putting a hard test even a good makeup artist.. Let's talk clearly, if you feel the need for a normal lens for the FF, perhaps even squeezing the eye to macro, and if you do not want to devote to astrophotography that would require a maximum opening, run to make it yours! sent on July 14, 2018 |
![]() | Sony DT 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 SAM II Pros: Sharp clarity on all focuses (if closed at the appropriate aperture) Almost handed together with the body of the camera. Practically free from chromatic aberration. Precise focus even if it does not lighten up. Best of many optical kits of various brands. It looks robust despite plastic. Lightweight and practical Cons: As far as it costs you may be silent on the defects but suffers to flare when used in backlight. Unfortunately, the lens rotates during focusing. Opinion: I got there two (when I bought the Alfa 450 and the A57) and they took me for thousands of shots giving me good results and never a problem. On all focuses it's surprisingly clear especially when closed af / 5.6 of / 8. The chromatic aberration is invisible even in the most critical passages from dark and light. It suffices to flare when a powerful source of light comes in the picture as the streetlights in night photos. He is a good companion for walking and traveling whenever he does not need a greater focus than that provided. There is a lack of a wide aperture and, for this reason, I have joined the Tamron 17 - 50 f / 2.8 fixed on all focal points. It is a pity that the optics rotate during focus, making it difficult to use a polarizing filter. The autofocus is precise and fast enough, while the manual focus ring is uncomfortable but, given the precision of automation, I never felt the need to use it. Though it's all plasticIn his hand seems robust and, using a phrase I often said, he must not be brought to war tore by war reporter. If it was possible to give the 8.5th grade for the performance, I would have given it if it deserves it, flare it to Part that can be avoided. I find it suitable for street and landscape images, less for portraits due to the inability to use generously open diaphragms. Concluding: It is a good lens that raised the often bad opinion on optics kits. If you have the needs that this optic can not fill, do not leave it, it may always be useful with its lightness and ability to spin good images. sent on August 08, 2017 |
![]() | Sony DT 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 Pros: Incredible focal excursion, discreetly good sharpness even at all focal lengths. All-round optics to carry everywhere and for this weighs little and is not very cumbersome. Precise and quick enough even with a light scarce light. The construction looks solid. It replaces on holiday and street photography an immense bag full of optics Cons: Those who expect typical Zeiss performance from this lens can be disappointed: the advantage of the great excursion sometimes spends with distortion at the focal lengths and sharpness to the edges that are not to be screamed although this optics can spin out good quality images. Sometimes with really low lightness it loses time to look for the right fire. Opinion: During a trip to Ireland, to be light, I only took the minute zoom kit of the Alfa 450 and in that breeze I felt a lot of lack of a long canvas. At home I immediately bought this optic that always followed me on my travels, including a half-year stay in Brazil. Well, on this occasion I made a great service, using it for landscapes and portraits of local people where the focal length of 200 - 250 mm allowed me to resume them without being noticed. I used it often in the street photo where I enjoyed its speed and precision of focus: having to photograph interesting characters, I first selected the focal point and then pointed the optic and immediately shot with the optics already focused on Fractions of second. I find it great for portraits where the focal length of 180 mm up offers a beautiful blurry background effect. The best sharpness at all focal points is obtained by closing the aperture af / 8 until af / 11. I recommend it to those who want to travel lightly: do not be afraid of the immense focal distance, the defectYou can cure it in post production .. Finally, focusing nearby subjects, may well fit for a nearly macro. sent on July 10, 2017 |
![]() | Sony DT 50mm f/1.8 SAM Pros: Stunning sharpness, very good quality of blurry. Very light. A great lens for portraits and also for everyday photos. Accurate and fast autofocus. Performance and quality / price ratio enviable. Robust despite plastic. Cons: Virtually nothing to say negative. Many complain that it is almost all plastic but it looks robust: you do not have to be tricked into a war reportage. Opinion: I chose it as a portraiture lens for my Alfa 57 and I use it, thanks to its maximum aperture, for long-stemmed starry-looking photos. It is already quite clear at the maximum opening and still improves quite a bit by closing a few stops (af / 2.8 offers its maximum with images that appear engraved with shaving blades). I should lose it or break it again I would recapture it again! It's always in the beard of the various zoom, on the front of my camera. The autofocus is fast and very accurate so I practically never had to use manual fire. I've been using it for almost seven years and never gave me any problems. Fine palates can nourish the nose by finding it very plasticous but this lightweight, very good plasticine does its job well and it has always made me feel very reliable. Let's say one thing: I already recommend it for its extraordinary performance and superconscious for the price. Save a few packets of cigarettes and do it yours !!!
