![]() | Nikon Z30 Pros: Size, weight, sensor, swivel and touch screen Cons: Dynamic range and noise over ISO 1000 Opinion: Purchased at the end of 2024 for mine photographs, tired of carrying the d750 with a tamron 15/30 and a larger and heavier tripod, I think it was the right choice mainly for 3 reasons. 1. I have reduced the kit from a backpack to a handbag and, having already a backpack with ropes, harness, food, lights, etc., I am much freer and lighter. When you carry a backpack for 8 hours, even 2kg makes a difference. 2. I take 99% of the photos on a tripod, in Live View, at 100/200 ISO. The lack of the viewfinder is not a problem, indeed one less thing that protrudes. it does not have stabilization. it doesn't matter, I should deactivate it anyway. I combined it with a Laowa 9mm 2.8 manual, which I use at F8 on infinity. from 50cm everything is in focus. 3. The touch menu is very convenient and the articulated screen allows me to frame even without being behind the camera. PROS: cost, size, weight, sensor and overall quality CONS: it suffers a bit from shadow recovery and at high iso it grains a thread (compared to the d750) Would I buy it again? certainly for my use. Among other things, the battery lasts as long, if not longer, than the d750 (using only live view on the latter) The shortcomings that everyone talks about are things that you already know before buying. If one wants the viewfinder, he goes for the z50, if he wants the stabilizer on Sony. And if you want a wedding machine, you can make a nice Z8 for 8 times the cost of this one. If one spends 500 euros, he can claim for 500 euros, not for 5 thousand. If not, there are also smartphones, which are much more comfortable..... and they even phone! sent on April 30, 2025 |
