![]() | Fujifilm X-T5 Pros: AF. 40mpx very usable till 3200 iso. Dynamic range. "Nostalgic Negative" film simulation. Faster processor. Improved custom profile with more saved infos. "Tilt" screen. "4:2:2" and "F-LOG2". Lighter than xt4. 125 base iso. EVF latency lower. Cons: It needs good lenses to express its potential. 6400 iso should be used with attention. "Crop 1.29x" in electronic shutter at 20 fps. EVF resolution is good but not as the one used in XH2. A bit of "rolling shutter" with fast "panning". Opinion: Compared to xt4, xt5 it is a better body in almost all points. Used with last generation lenses (XF33 f1.4 lm wr, XF18 f1.4 lm wr) produces great files with a very good dynamic range. I usually don't use iso greater than 3200 iso so it perfect in my use case. With 6400 and higher iso there is more grain but it is finer than is predecessor so in this case all depends on the type of photo you are shooting (and noise postprocessing). New processor is very fast and helps many operations: EVF, "image quality" filters, autofocus. "Eye autofocus" is finally reliable. Love tilt screen especially in dynamic shootings (without to have worry to damage it...). Custom profiles are much more complete than is predecessor and allow to save more options. Nostalgic Negative now is my default profile: in many cases I use it to post jpeg without any postprocessing (shadows are not so hard as in Classic Chrome and colors are wonderful). White balance seems better (probably thanks to AI). For landscape 125 base iso and 40mpx are great improvements. 40 mpx : even if you don't print in big formats more crop options, straight line correction accuracy and a smaller color matrix help a lot. sent on January 06, 2023 |
