![]() | Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM Pros: Sharpness, fixed aperture at f2.8, quality / price ratio, solidity. Cons: Chromatic aberration at the lower focal lengths also at intermediate openings, slight problem of AF, above all at 17mm focusing on infinity in conditions of not optimal brightness, 77mm filters. Opinion: I recently bought this lens, I have not yet had the opportunity to try it thoroughly but an idea in my mind I made it. Precise that I use it on Canon 600D. The lens in question is very clear, at the center of the frame the image is nice sharp a bit 'to all openings (perhaps from the best from f2.8 to f11), of course at the edges and corners the results are not the same , but nothing to do with the 18-55 f3.5 / 5.6 IS II Canon provided me with the kit, where the image was not defined at all in these areas. The constant aperture at f2.8 is very useful, saves you in low light situations, even the bokeh is pleasant ... The construction is solid. It is a glass that gives a feeling of compactness in hand, nothing to do with the "plasticoni" that are often supplied in the kits, obviously the bayonet is in metal, the quality of the materials will be seen with time, it is also present system to lock the ring of the focal.rnFor what concerns the against%2C there is inevitably a chromatic aberration, especially towards the edges / corners of the frame, which manifests itself at the shorter focal lengths, more or less at any aperture and in conditions of strong luminosity or contrasts in the image. I have not encountered constant front or back focus problems, but especially at 17mm when you focus indefinitely, the lens could unpack (even if only slightly, it is something that you notice only magnifying a lot of the image) the focus in AF in low / bad light conditions, unless you take a picture in Live View, in this case the problem does not seem to be present. 77mm filters are quite expensive. Present evident distortion at 17 mm, easily correctable in pp. However, it remains one of the best choices for the quality / price ratio in the standard zoom on the market of reduced sensor DSLRs in my opinion. Waiting to test it better, in any case I would recommend it for people like me, is an amateur photographer. sent on July 14, 2017 |
