Hello Astrogallery,
the picture does not convince me, especially in blacks:-(. almost seems that you have cut a little 'too low values ??of the histogram in ADU. question I do not think noise as though you've taken at 6400 ISO, 10 shots and 30 seconds of exposure should "soften" the whole.
Maybe DSS has not done his duty (but this is a personal bias ... I do not have a good relationship with DSS:-P). Have you tried to add another program and / or maintaining fixed the comets and leaving crawl the stars?
Best wishes and congratulations anyway for the other photos in the gallery which are really very beautiful,
David

Hello John,
use that program to align the comets? :-D ... I do not use. Or rather use my usual IRIS and PixInsight getting comets and stars without streaks. The only program able to get stars and comets seems to be fixed but hate DSS (also) for the reasons you say.
I tried to align the frame with respect to the comet and make a median (see my photo of PanStarrs) but the result is not the best. In the research section of my website I tried to recruit some computer software for the development of a "comet" but at the moment no one has answered the call [URL =] www.astrotrezzi.it/?page_id=4144 . Sooner or later I'll put my hands but I never have time:-(
A greeting and thanks for the compliments,
David

Interesting, thank you for info. Unfortunately I can not give you a hand in the development of software. Anyway if I could come up with something you do a whistle!
Of PixInsight I have spoken well, sooner or later I have to decide to try it!

See you soon,
John
