Per questo tutte le famiglie si sono autotassate al fine di contribuire alle spese materiali del lavoro. Dal canto suo, il pittore Walter Madoi esegue gli affreschi per puro amore dell'arte, senza compenso. L'imponente impresa pittorica, consistente in circa 350 mq di affreschi, fu eseguita nel giro di appena tre mesi di weekend. [ ] sempre grazie alla sottile intuizione e al tenace impegno di Walter Madoi, decollarono ulteriori significative iniziative: la predisposizione di una quarantina di affreschi sui muri esterni dei fabbricati di Sesta Inferiore, l'allestimento fin dal 1965 della prestigiosa mostra nazionale d'arte all'aperto definita "Dall'alba al tramonto" [ ] ".
