Sphinx oleander sent on August 26, 2014 (19:19) by Lucchin Fabrizio. 38 comments, 5673 views.

, 1/320 f/11.0, ISO 500, tripod. Specie: Daphnis nerii

Stpenda Sphinx, in the drawing that is created with the nuances, I see a face of a monster of the Japanese animated cartoon, with much of eyes, mouth, ears and antennae well defined, the nature .... ... !!!!
Congratulations to catch.

Hello Gianni. in fact it has two false eyes, as he also did the caterpillar, are to throw off predators. Live it looks really nice velvet. It 'a migratory butterfly and does not live in my part (prov. Vicenza) luck was that a sphinx has spawned on oleanders in the garden of my friend Alessandro expert on butterflies, caterpillars from which they were born and then these beautiful butterflies .
Thanks also to D. Roberto, and Roberto Olpi 1977 for compliments.
