Siamo nel nord della Colombia, nel dipartimento di Bolivar, su un'isola, nella magica città di Mompós (o Mompox o Santa Cruz de Mompox), città situata tra due fiume immensi su cui nessuno ha costruito i ponti, il Rio Cauca e il Rio Magdalena, bellissima città coloniale molto ben conservata dove il tempo si è fermato.... e dove Franco Rosi girò "cronaca di una morte annunciata".
