Per quanta riguarda il contrasto è una cosa che riesco a valutare poco in post produzione, esiste qualche metodo abbastanza oggettivo (esempio qualcosa da osservare nell'istogramma) per migliorarlo?

Beh solitamente occorre verificare che l'istogramma sia esteso, che vada dall'estremo sinistro all'estremo destro.
Questo ti da la garanzia di avere dei neri "neri" e dei bianchi "bianchi". Ma quella dell'istogramma è un'indicazione che ti può aiutare, ma non è l'unico parametro da considerare. Basilare è un monitor tarato almeno sulla scala dei grigi.
