Bufalo cafro (Syncerus caffer), noto anche con il nome di bufalo nero, bufalo africano e bufalo del Capo, e soprannominato "la morte nera" per la sua indole aggressiva e imprevedibile. Appartiene al gruppo dei "Big five" d'africa e rientra fra le specie animali più pericolose al mondo. Ti fissa con l'aria di uno a cui devi dei soldi e la sua immensa forza è la chiave della sua pericolosità. Tiene testa ai leoni che spesso riesce a mettere in fuga e si registrano casi in cui i felini, magari giovani inesperti, abbiano perso la vita sotto corna e zoccoli di questa furia bovina. Fra gli uomini si contano centinaia di vittime ogni anno. E' un animale socievole che vive in grosse mandrie, ma si possono incontrare, come nel mio caso, maschi anziani solitari emarginati dal branco. Aprile 2012
