Da un po' di tempo nelle gite in bici nei dintorni di casa ho l'abitudine di portare nella borsa appesa al manubrio una fotocamera bridge. Di dimensioni e peso contenuti, non produrrà file della qualità di una reflex, ma a volte può rendersi utile per documentare incontri imprevisti, come quello avvenuto la primavera scorsa lungo una stradina nei colli morenici a sud del lago di Garda. In fatto di rettili sono un profano ma da quello che ho appreso documentandomi credo di aver ripreso, con mia grande fortuna, un duello ritualizzato fra biacchi, colubridi molto territoriali che si fronteggiano non necessariamente a scopo riproduttivo. Uno spettacolo estremamente affascinante, vigoroso ed al contempo elegante, e , permettetemi il paragone, per certi versi simile ad un incontro di judo, con due "cinture nere" di ragguardevoli dimensioni che si fronteggiavano avviluppandosi con frenesia. L'intento dei due contendenti è quello di costringere l'avversario con la testa a terra.
