Nel Sentiero delle Ocre tutte le sfumature di rossi, arancioni e gialli hanno trovato rifugio nelle terre e nelle rocce che compongono la valle delle Fate e le falesie dei Giganti, formazioni rocciose dalle forme ardite e dagli intensi colori.
Questa cava è legata ad una leggenda:
E' la storia di un amore infelice, quello tra Guglielmo e Sermonda sposa di Raimondo d'Avignone signore del borgo verso la fine del XII secolo.
Tra i due giovani la passione si era accesa, forte e impetuosa senza lasciar spazio alla ragione. Il marito tradito venuto a conoscenza dell'inganno e nel silenzio meditava vendetta.
