Lo stile della chiesa è romanico longobardo e l'edificio è a tre navate diviso da colonne, con absidi semicircolari. le tre navate, divise da imponenti colonne polistili di diversa forma e dimensione, sono coperte da volte a crociera, tranne quelle in corrispondenza dei bracci del transetto e del presbiterio che sono a botte. la luce filtra da oculi nella navata destra e da finestre in quella di sinistra. è interessante evidenziare che, in origine, la navata centrale era separata dalle due laterali da un muricciolo dell'altezza di circa due metri (se ne vedono ancora le tracce degli attacchi sulla superficie delle colonne).
