Pararge aegeria (Linné, 1758) - Famiglia Nymphalidae - Sottofamiglia Satyrinae - Apertura alare: Da 3,5 a 4,3 cm. - Distribuzione in Italia: Presente in tutte le regioni, isole comprese. Habitat: Boschi chiari e piccole radure dal livello del mare a 1000 m., ma occasionalmente è stata osservata fino a 1700 m. - Periodo di volo: Polivoltina con sfarfallamenti, nell'Italia settentrionale, da aprile a giugno e da luglio a settembre. Nel resto d'Italia ha tre generazioni che si susseguono da marzo a ottobre. - Pianta alimentare dei bruchi: Varie graminacee dei boschi dei generi Poa, Triticum, Agropyron, ecc. - Dimorfismo sessuale: La femmina è leggermente più grande e con l'apice dell'ala anteriore più arrotondato.
