L'impala, una specie a mio avviso un pò sottovalutata, forse perchè molto frequente e facile da fotografare.
Vittima sacrificale soprattutto di ghepardi, leopardi, iene e licaoni; troppo piccolo per i leoni, ha una vista acutissima, sempre vigile e al primo segnale di pericolo corre velocemente ed è in grado di spiccare salti fino a 10 mt. in lunghezza e 3 mt. in altezza.
Vive in due tipologie di branchi, branco di soli maschi, giovani e mai dominanti, branco di femmine con cuccioli protette da un maschio dominante che vedete in fotografia e da me titolato "cornuto".
Un pò distante dal branco in questo caso ma sempre vigile e attento e pronto a combattere per il suo harem.

è vero che sono soggetti frequenti, ma non è nemmeno facile trovare dei maschi così belli e in una posa così "regale".
Belli anche riprenderli durante i duelli nel il perido degli accoppiamenti o per difendere il branco.

Dalla miniatura non avrei mai detto che era un impala, pensavo più ad una gazzella di grant.
esemplare notevole. il maschio dominante non resta tale a lungo, ma quando vedete le dimensioni del suo harem, capite perchè si sciupa in fretta.
