Ho fatto un esperimento con questa foto. Ho fatto questi interventi. L'ho trasformata in b/n e ho dato parecchio contrasto. Il mio scopo era quello di far risaltare il cancello scuro (vero protagonista della foto) e staccarlo dal resto, nebbia bianca compresa.

Hello Brie .... you're right ... and if I told you that building in the distance there is a madhouse? :-(

I find your image very evocative! B & N, in my opinion, it was a right choice; colors would distract attention from the essence of the photo. The gate, which occupies a large part of the picture, placed in the foreground has a significant visual impact. The sky is a bit 'milky and perhaps slightly burned, some ominous cloud there would have been very good and would have dramatized the scene even more, knowing that the building in the background is a madhouse. The gate also really divides and ideally the thin line that separates people considered "normal" by those marginalized by society.
Congratulations,
Hello, John.

Very successful operation.
The feeling of surreal, mixed with nostalgia for ancient splendor, comes across.
Where is this place?

I like it, nice B & W, nice sense of depth, nice atmosphere of slight anxiety ...
Hello,
Gianni

PS do not need to go through the gate, just go to the left, everything is open 8-)

Thank you all. I do not often use the b / w and also working in the field qs is unknown to me. I went a little 'personal taste ..

For August 957: yes, the photo has been taken in Mombello, a place that fascinates me and photographically interesting and, at the same time, worries me and makes me think a lot.

You're right, the place is fascinating, restless and invites reflection, shame incidents of vandalism are transforming it into a dump of rubble and glass, and before long there will not be anything to photograph.

Hello Emilio, you're right ... between vandalism and degradation do not know how you can be in a few years ... now there are too many gashes in the roof and when it rains water gets everywhere ... some day collapse really something .. . hopefully not be down there to photograph!

Hello Clara!
Thank you! This is a very special place where every wall, every wire grass, every detail exudes melancholy and suffering!

Hello Clara, I really like your this shot, I like the work of PP and the choice of b / w.
I find it a shot striking, the gap between the normal and the diversity between existing and not existing!
If I can afford to my personal taste I would have cut the opening to the left, thus leaving the only way, the only choice the gate, the only madness that the mind can suggest, this does not mean absolutely cm ² value to your image!
Congratulations x construction, very good!
Have a great week!
