a deafening silence ... sent on June 05, 2014 (22:36) by Rriccardo. 21 comments, 1565 views.

at 55mm, 1/250 f/10.0, ISO 160, hand held.

Foto scatta nell'agosto 2012, focale 55 mm

The picture I really like, I would have tried to compose a different perspective on the crosses to give it more depth.
However, another poem that tells you a little piece of our history, congratulations Ric.

Hello Fabrizio, the prospect you're right. I have other, more depth and drama of the place where it captures better. I wanted to post this because it was the only one in which in addition to the crosses and the plants could be glimpsed the sea, this is to renew the photo caption. Thanks of appreciation.

Oxymoronic!
quoto on perspective: perhaps a compound diagonal and a b & w "dramatic"

@ Martor Hello, thanks for the lift and tip. As I said to Fabrizio other pictures with different perspectives and perhaps made it more as an effect but this was one that reflected more sense also the caption. For black and white I think it would fail because the oxymoron would have been less obvious beauty of the green and the sea with the sadness and seriousness of the place.
However, I appreciate your opinion.

@ Hello Gianmarco, it is true, the cut of the head of the tree :-| :-| :-|, I was just escaped. Thank you for reporting. I'll definitely be more careful.

Beautiful picture also because it imposes profound reflections. I have recently returned from Redipuglia other military memorial. The emotion was strong!
All the best, Dino

An image touching, so many crosses with the same date of death engraved on it ... so many young lives cut short by an ideal of freedom ... a sacrifice that has made the world free from the tyranny of Nazi

@ Hello Terence, thanks for the appreciation.
@ Hello Daniel, thank you too.

@ Dino, I'm glad your passage and especially the appreciation that require thoughtful places like this or like Redipuglia. Thanks

@ Hello Mark, I fully agree with your thoughts. We should remind ourselves of these tragedies only once in a while but we have always before their eyes, not to fall into error.

Thank you and good week everyone

I always bow before these places for which you have written the greatest truth: ..... [The] because it is often people who, beyond the color of their skin, religion and political choice, do not even know why they fight. They fall, and yet they are unexpressed lives, which had to have better employment, thrown to the wind always unnecessarily. I took this concept in a photo that is very dear to me, reproduction of 1916, commemorative of my beloved grandfather.
Bravo, a beautiful shot, beautiful words.
