Risaie del Vercellese_____ Ho lasciato la Micra verde scuro, poco invadente e adatta alla foto in risaia, all'ingresso di una "stanza" in asciutta, soprelevata rispetto alla stradina dei trattori, e mi sono diretto a piedi verso un gruppetto di Cavalieri, un po' più in là lungo lo stradina. Stavano mettendo in atto tutte le tecniche di intimidazione, allarme e depistaggio. Nella stanza dove puntava il muso la Micra c'erano dei nidi. A turno si alzavano e volteggiavano su di me, puntandomi e virando all'ultimo, uno (o una) si dava da fare accovacciandosi su un monticello di paglia lungo la stradina, credo per attirarmi lontano facendomi credere che quello fosse il nido. Tutti emettevano stridii coordinati. Ho pensato che li stavo disturbando nella sorveglianza dei pulli (le uova erano schiuse da giorni) e che li avrei stancati obbligandoli al continuo decollare, volteggiare e atterrare. Ma per un po' non ho resistito a scattare delle foto al volo a distanze che non mi erano mai capitate e con una libertà di visuale e movimento impossibile da un capanno o da dentro l'auto. Uno spettacolo da ricordare.
