A dire il vero è difficile capirne il significato perchè, pur provandoci, spesso non si riesce ad ottenere le informazioni che si vorrebbero su una cultura che si tramanda solo verbalmente e su cui non si trovano studi approfonditi... e poi spesso forse non c'è nemmeno un significato particolare ed i motivi delle decorazioni sono più che altro legati ad un gusto artistico personale ...
La pittura bianca sul viso comunque ha la finalità di proteggerlo durante la crescita contro gli spiriti maligni....
