This is a nice looking and small (around 6 mm) metallic hoverfly.

Stacking info: 28 natural light exposures at ISO 100 made with Sony NEX-7, Nikon Macro-Nikkor 65mm f/4.5 Multiphot lens on Novoflex BALPRO 1 bellows.

Photographed on 03.05.2014

Hello Cristian. Sorry sincerity but this is the image that I like least in your fantastic galleries. Maybe the lighting is not perfect as usual I see in your other photos. The upper part of the wings is very bright while under low light. Also the sharpness is not as clear as we've become accustomed usually, but maybe it's just my impression. I repeat ... excuse my sincerity, but this is what I see ... ;-) ;-)

Hello,

Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate it! Sorriso ;-)

Yes, you are right about sharpness: this stack was done with another lens-camera combination which is not as good as the almighty MP-E but still have some advantages like great working distance and small dimensions. Yes, I am still amazed by the sharpness of the MP-E lens but sometimes I feel the need to try another approach to macro stacking and then I choose the bellows. Sorriso

Regarding exposure - on my calibrated Eizo monitor the exposure is fine but perhaps the upper part is brighter, I'll try to improve on that in the near future.

Thanks again for your input! Sorriso
