I'm the most beautiful! sent on May 16, 2014 (9:51) by Alessandro Mattiello. 68 comments, 5212 views.

con Nikon TC-17E II, 1/1000 f/7.1, ISO 800, hand held. Oasi WWF Cave di Noale, Italy. Specie: Upupa epops

In this shot, I think there are three factors (determinants) that run very well the picture:

1. Recovery point. Signing lowered to ground level to resume the hoopoe was a winning choice: the observer is kidnapped by the subject and it is as if he himself became part of the image. This feeling is accentuated by fine black eye position (point attractive natural) that is going to be placed in the middle and at the center of the frame (the most important thing our brain will put more in that area).

2. The sharpness of the eye and beak, which contrasts with the rough plumage. This second aspect gives the shooting a big sense of dynamism. The animal is caught in the act of taking flight, the position of the wings do well to understand thatSoon he would be hovering on. Good timing shooting.

3. Composition and clean image. Third consideration of this shot. Excellent choice to decentralize the subject on the right so as to leave breathing on front and accentuate the sense of flight, freedom and dynamism. Also in terms of composition, I really like the overall cleanliness of the shot: the background, creamy and smooth, it helps to remove the subject and give depth to the image, the blades of grass contribute to an excellent contextualization of photos and enrich the recovery details. Finally, I love this base so blurred that evokes a feeling of delicacy and transience of the moment caught.

There is one thing I do not like, though. is the fact that you have not shared the data of scatto. I believe that the intent of a forum is, first of all, to promote a discussion and suggestions for improvement. This might be of interest to others who would like to "emulate" the shot. So why not help their growth processes by providing the data taken?
I want to believe that it is, just, an oversight that will soon provvederai! ;-)

For the rest, congratulations and good shots!

Luke88 Hello, first of all thank you for the thorough and very welcome commentary ... the shooting data are not an oversight (usually I put them), but I have not at hand at the moment! :-|
I can anticipate the sensitivity (ISO 800) because I remember, for shutter speed and aperture I will this afternoon ;-)
