Allora...se vuoi un AF performante scordati quest'obiettivo  Almeno, sulla mia 600D faccio quasi prima a mettere a fuoco a mano 
Anche a me quest'ottica veniva dalla eos 300 e l'ho tenuta giusto per avere un medio-tele con cui divertirmi :)
Devo dire che puoi dilettarti con le " macro" (c'è un link se ti interessa)
Per la qualità...chiuso a f 8/11 rende benissimo, come d'altronde qualsiasi altro obiettivo, ma parere personale a TA o giù di lì non è propriamente il massimo.
Poi dipende da quale range di focale prediligi, ci sono un sacco di altri obiettivi, serie L a parte e anche di altre case molto performanti!
So ... if you want a powerful AF forgotten this goal:-D At least, on my 600D I almost before to focus on hand:-)
Even to me this light came from the EOS 300 and I kept it just to have a medium-telephoto with which fun :)

For the quality ... close af 8/11 makes it very well, as indeed any other objective, but personal opinion to TA or so is not exactly the best.
