Gli habitat preferiti da questa specie sono simili a quelli delle altre congeneri e sono costituiti dalle brughiere alberate, dai boschi radi o aperti, dai sentieri e dalle radure, dalle zone in cui è stato praticato il taglio a ceduo, in pratica tutte quelle situazioni naturali che favoriscono la presenza delle piante ospiti (sicuramente per tutte le specie congeneri le viole "Viola" e probabilmente per la Boloria dia anche i rovi "Rubus"). Il periodo di volo va da maggio ad agosto con due generazioni annuali.
