La difficoltà di catturare immagini di questo tipo è che se e quando trovi l' occasione giusta, non fai in tempo a pensarci che il sole è già troppo alto.... Il capovaccaio pileato ( Necrosyrtes monachus ) è un avvoltoio di piccole dimensioni abbastanza comune nelle savane africane. Essendo di piccola taglia e poco aggressivo non entra mai in competizione con i grifoni e gli altri avvoltoi tenendosi in disparte ed attendendo di rubare qualche resto. L' ho visto spesso appoggiato sul terreno mentre attende paziente nei pressi di un gruppo di leoni e quest' anno ho potuto osservare le ragioni di questo comportamento..... Attendono che i leoni defechino per precipitarsi a mangiare probabilmente i brandelli di carne non completamente digerita contenuta nelle feci dei felini...
