Ti ringrazio delle osservazioni. In effetti, trattandosi di una specie endemica identificata come tale recentemente, solo pochi hanno la consapevolezza di quanto sia rappresentativa della fauna italiana.

Non credo che il colore dell'iride sia un carattere distintivo. Morfologicamente le due specie si diversificano soprattutto per la colorazione del mantello. Potresti approfondire consultando gli studi citati nella nota bibliografica che correda la voce "Lepus corsicanus" di Wikipedia.

I do not think the color of the iris is distinctive. Morphologically, the two species differ mainly for the color of the coat. You may deepen consulting the studies cited in the references accompanying the "Lepus corsicanus" of Wikipedia.
