L'8 ottobre 2007 il modello ligneo del Castello di Rivoli, realizzato da Carlo Maria Ugliengo nel 1718 su disegno di Filippo Juvarra, è stato smontato dalla Sala Guidobono per essere trasferito a Venaria Reale alla mostra "La Reggia di Venaria e i Savoia. Arte, magnificenza e storia di una corte europea". E' stata questa l'occasione per avviare un progetto di collaborazione con la Regione Piemonte - La Venaria Reale, che ha portato alla sperimentazione nel campo dei beni culturali di tecniche di misurazione e riproduzione normalmente applicate in ambito industriale. Il risultato è il modello di Palazzo Madama in scala 1:30 che viene esposto a partire dal 15 dicembre 2007 in Sala Guidobono in sostituzione di quello settecentesco.
