, 1/1600 f/4.0, ISO 400, Serengeti National Park, Tanzania.

Thanks John!

I almost attached to the model, we were (husband and I + guide) about 5 hours with the trio hoping that the male could conclude:-D female and this could catch its prey even if a part of me was very happy that two attempts were unsuccessful: the photographer wanted to take a part of my hunting, my tender part for holding prey (though at the same I was sorry that the cat has not eaten) ;-)

I believe Clare, a few years ago I took the end of the sequence, the meal and it was a great show, there was a lot of blood :-(, maybe it was better that way ;-)

Very nice atmosphere. I think the dilemma who to support between the prey and the predator captures all of us in these situations, although in truth the predator is always much more disadvantaged than the prey

great shot .... this time the gray sky, usually insignificant, it offers a perfect background to make the subject stand out .... congratulations. GM

Beautiful photo.
I think the cloudy sky has softened a bit 'sunlight than in other pictures I've seen to be really strong.
The green of the bush and the gray sky, (as written by GM) are more prominent than the lioness.
Have a nice evening
Alberto

@ Oly

Thanks for the ride, and you know that cats are my favorite so if I do not eat that way ... ;-)

@ Gian Mario

Thank you for your comment!
And I did not say I was quite unlucky with the weather but like you said at least not at this juncture. ;-)

The light after a storm in the bush is among the most beautiful. A classic that is very African, I wish you good in the future, a handsome guy with a thick mane.

Beautiful colors and pose for photos as well as excellently composed.
Would remove a bit of noise on the sky.
