Buon viaggio!

`the absence of color / smoothing / sheens that here in the forum are all the rage have made it the lukewarm reception.
is encouraging, however, that Juza has elected to release this photo of the week, not for what it's worth the recognition, but for the `attention that place - and now suggests that other forumisti - to this style of photography.

in my view is an opportunity of growth of the forum and how did Catherine I invite you to stop by on the other shots of Stephen (because we are talking of a project, not a `snapshot), without thinking about the technicalities.

a style where (to quote my comment on another guild photo of Stefano) the contents prevails over the container and its shape. it would be good to treasure.

Intriguing point of view and the communicative nature of the shot.
I am in full agreement with BAFMAN about looking back into the picture sharpness and not just looking for pure technique (often I myself am attracted to this) but a glance and communication. After all, the light can be supplied made up of many facets and each of them is always interesting and the inner staff.

In this photo seems to breathe the atmosphere, wholesome fun with that little, without shoes, but with the soul of the human being transparent and can still hear.

Congratulations, a shot worthy of the prizes awarded!

This is what unites children from all over the world ... the desire, the need to have fun despite everything, despite the despair and the abuses to which they are exposed too often. This kind of shots I like ... in this case I find it very good the resume point that puts you in the action and the lights burned that make it all template. You do not need to see clearly the faces of the children to understand the message of this shot. Hello, Ste

compliments, a good idea of ??the project, carried out with skill. I fully agree with your thoughts about travel photography equipment with "minimalist". This is the shot that I prefer, in composition, dynamics and BN. really good!

I saw between the top of the page in random photos of the arena, and I said, "This can only be Stefano." I clicked and "magic ....." Stefano was right.
I do not know if the teacher assesses this recognition as a compliment or not, but for me the sign without a photo of the sign it is just great.
A salute to the great photographer / traveler / driver of the truck and Gouache, his incomparable companion (but when I can get back to you?).

I was about to write that this series is proof that the technical aspect, in the photograph, is not that one of the elements, perhaps the least essential, but it is also true that these results are obtained ONLY if "behind" THERE 'preparation technique and that, probably, the need and desire to engage in a project of this type is only after having achieved satisfactory results with the means that are normally used by those who photograph seriously. In this case there is no doubt that the "limitation" means the date (still a Leica ...) only adds to the skill of the photographer. Probably the cosapevolezza to have a limit in the equipment even more stimulating the emotional part, which combined with technical expertise and talent (undoubtedly in your case), leads to these outcomes.
But I think also thatit is undeniable that an SLR lens and some (not necessarily super-professional and top of the range) allow for more possibilities.
With regard to the ethical discourse I think that it depends on the camera in your hand or remove the risk of bringing people together, and I think instead that it is a matter of awareness, "preparation", knowledge, respect also (and not only) operating the camera. I think of the damage they have done tourists in the Omo Valley ... most probably, holding a compact ...

ps anyway, if he did not understand, I really like the photo ... :-D

Thanks Nkoringo, excuse the late reply, I was on safari!
I would say that you have centered correctly in my intent, I can not but agree with you. Tourism unfortunately in the Omo Valley continues to do irreparable damage, unfortunately it is in almost all of Africa. I've been working on, I realize that many year after year, just to bring home a "souvenir photo", trample anyone. I do not even notice it, taking in anything that moves, have not even want to "waste time" to understand what they're photographing. Photos end up in HD, into oblivion. On the other hand, subjects have learned to ask for money, how to blame them. There is no communication between the parties and that many times I'm in the middle, I struggle to explain to both.
The compact or iPhone, limit the damage slightly intrusion, but as in all things, these devices should be used sparingly and without offending anyone, but that's another story! A hug from Malawi!
