Il luogo dello scatto e' Rotorua, in Nuova Zelanda. Li' i fanghi bollenti sono veramente bellissimi, cosi' come molto della natura in generale. Ho fatto un solo scatto dei fanghi, quello che e' qui rappresentato. Preferisco scattare poco, in generale. Questa immagine a 1/500 non blocca bene lo scoppio della superficie esterna del fango. La foto ne riesente. Quando mi ricapita di passare da quelle parti ...

In alcune foto avrei dovuto includere qualche oggetto in modo da rendere piu' valutabili le dimensioni. Comunque, in questa zona le aree soggette a questo fenomeno hanno un'estensione notevole e gli "edifici vulcanici" nel loro complesso hanno dimensioni degne di nota (sotto le foto, nel io sito, c'e' la mappa di Google della zona); le dimensioni dei coni di emissione, invece, sono le stesse di quelli italiani. Solo in un caso ho trovato, e fotografato, una colata di fango fuori dal comune, probabilmente formata in seguito a un'emissione abbondande e prolungata di materiale. Questa colata si snodava per un centinaio di metri dal punto di emissione, incanalandosi dove la morfologia glielo permetteva.
Il solco della foto di apertura non e' profondo piu' di qualche decimetro.
