Test-toed with canon 2x extender sent on February 20, 2014 (1:28) by Luca Alessi. 9 comments, 1049 views. [retina]

con Canon EF 2.0x III, 1/320 f/10.0, ISO 500, hand held. Parco Nazionale Abruzzo, Lazio e Molise, Italy.

#BorghiItalia Scatto effettuato a 400mm da notevole distanza, si nota una leggera distorsione dovuta alla tanta aria in mezzo, per il resto l'accoppiata tele+extender 2x serie III canon mi sembra decentemente nitida

Gianmarco Hello, I did a trip to the woods, a little because I was hoping to bring home a bit, however, a good photo because the wood being already in a very dark shade and I would have had to raise the ISO or to lengthen the shutter speed, already in this 400mm and 1/320 was well below the safety time for one shot freehand.
And 'one of the first shots I do with this configuration, we'll see how it goes in the future, for now I feel good :-)

very nice, I thought of selling the 100-400 that use little and take the extender III but I never really understood if the difference in speed and sharpness feels actually

Thanks Matt and Jericho, I would say that the combination works very well, I tried it on other occasions, and it is very clear even when you can see in this photo.
For Jericho, I think in terms of absolute values ??in the 100-400 sharpness and speed is still better than the harrier duplicate, even though it remains a very responsive AF. Everything is going to choose based on the type of photos you do, I use it mostly smooth, I took the extender for a longer focal length when I need it.
All the best, Luke
