Codibugnolo di Sicilia con un frammento di corteccia da utilizzare come rivestimento esterno del nido. La popolazione siciliana di Codibugnolo presenta dorso grigio puro, privo o appena sfumato del rosa che caratterizza le popolazioni dell'Italia peninsulare, e striature della testa brune; il colore nero, inoltre, è assente od offuscato. Per queste marcate differenze, in passato si è ritenuto potesse formare una specie a sé. Oggi, sulla base anche di ricerche genetiche, viene ascritta alla sottospecie endemica Aegithalos caudatus siculus (Whitaker) - Postproduzione di Antonio Guarrera (no crop)
