Unico appunto avrei decentrato leggermente il soggetto.

Ti ho chiesto se l'hai usata perchè forse il problema che riscontri con la qualità è dato dall'uso eccessivo di tale maschera. Nel senso che gli spruzzi sembrano troppo definiti e "duri"...

Hai ragione me ne sono accorto,tra l'altro nel ridimensionare per il web ne ho dato un'altra passata peggiorando la situazione . Di base c'è da dire che non riesco ad ottenere la nitidezza che vedo in tante foto di questo forum . Non so se dipende solo dalla mia inesperienza o da dalla 50D o da qualche settaggio sbagliato .

La 50D ad alti iso non si comporta benissimo, però in genere su certi scatti la "unsharp mask" si applica solo su certe zone della foto e non so tutta la scena. Si usano maschere di livello e si usano i filtri solo dove serve.
Nel tuo caso non so perchè hai deciso di usare tale strumento, a mio avviso lo scatto non ha aspetti che avevano bisogno di maggior definizione. 
The 50D at high ISO does not behave very well, but in general some shots of the "unsharp mask" is applied only on certain areas of the picture and do not know the whole scene. Using layer masks and filters are used only where necessary.

Il b/n usato si sposa bene con la grana e il disturbo. I toni mi paiono un po' piatti...avrei provato a contrastare meglio. Per il processamento delle immagini ti consiglio di seguire l'articolo di Juza che spiega come convertire le foto per il web. Risolverai sicuramente i problemi di nitidezza. Ciao, Ste.
