Uno splendido esemplare di babbuino Gelada, della famiglia dei Cercopitecidi, endemica dell'Etiopia. La zona di distribuzione del gelada è ridottissima. Infatti, vive solo su alcune montagne dell'Etiopia, dove frequenta gli altipiani pietrosi. Vive sulle montagne del nord e del centro, specialmente intorno al lago Tana, a un'altitudine variante tra i 2000 e i 4000 m.
