Congratulations, great technique! But how do you do that? Have you hypnotized? Explain to me why you have also changed the diaphragm? Thank you and congratulations for the sequence of images. Complimenti, ottima tecnica!!! Ma come hai fatto? L'hai ipnotizzato? Mi spieghi anche perchè hai modificato il diaframma? Grazie e complimenti per la sequenza di immagini. |

Fabio: I wish I could hypnotize all the insects, I'm sure there would be stunning images then... But no, I only photograph them in the early morning when they are resting. I don't use any tricks to make them still. I've changed the aperture because that way I could decrease the number of exposures required to complete the stack. I've started at f7.1 for the non-essential parts (the leaf the insect was sitting on) and when I reached the leg I changed it to f4.5. The step size for f4.5 was 0.1 mm, and for f7.1 was 0.2 mm. I hope I could made myself clear with the explanation. Here is the animated gif file:

Hana: Yes, all the insect are photographed alive and in their natural environment. I don't use any trick to make them still, I only take pictures in the early morning. |
