Con lo scoppio della 1° guerra mondiale il paese di Sesto giunse nei limiti della primissima linea e il 4 agosto 1915 l`intera popolazione fu evacuata. Alla fine del giugno 1917 fu permesso ai contadini del Monte di Fuori di ritornare nei loro masi e coltivare i campi. Siccome la chiesa parrocchiale era gravemente danneggiata fu eretta questa cappella del bosco. Dalla prima domenica dell`agosto 1917 fino alla primavera 1918 il parroco Schwaighofer celebrava ogni domenica e giorno di festa in questa chiesa provvisoria la santa messa.
