, 1/25 f/14.0, ISO 100, hand held. Masai Mara, Kenya.

Masai Mara, Ottobre 2013.

For me and excellent shooting and BW management countered in the right place!

Great shot, I like the BN, makes the scene more dramatic

Hello "partner" you know I'm always careful reading of the images:-D on BW nothing to say, I can not ever as good as I want. This is very well done with a nice gray scale well contrasted blacks and whites. What I am not convinced it is the conversion for this kind of images. Maybe he could be there in the wider field, or in the animal portrait with clean background. In the second half of a close scene with confusion like this I think the BW limits the reading of the details so that in the end the picture loses a bit 'of its impact and the scene a bit' right of pathos. Ultimately I like much more than the color version.
Best wishes Paul.

Thank you for appreciating my first attempt at BN!
@ Member: I'm happy for what you've written and I'll explain the reasons for my choice:
I state, I also prefer the color, so much so that this is my first experiment, as I wrote above!!
I Opted for a cut in horizontal panoramic view of the development of the scene and impressed by the light and dark of the frame, I thought I would give more importance to water spray, wet coats and horns of wildebeests, enhancing them with the BN and how you too have stressed I seem to have succeeded.
Also in the color version I did not like the upper part of the frame, solved by the BN, darkening, adding a bit of vignetting, and applying less contrast than the climax, and even here it seems to me you bring the right attention of the bonesrve only on the scene. Finally I saw that this kind of situations lend themselves to BN.
It 'was an experiment, however, also vary with respect to the other photos in the gallery.
Thanks so much to everyone for the ride.

hello, without removing anything to the colors, I really like the version of BN ... more from a sense of fear and excitement that I imagine breathing in that moment .. surely you will lose detail, but you gain in pathos ... very well done

I would say that your experiment is successful: I like this version B / W
